Man assaulted in County Tyrone
An 18-year-old man has sustained injuries following an assault in Castlederg, County Tyrone.
It is understood the man was walking along the Corgary Road near the Aghyaran crossroads at 2:30pm on Saturday when a number of people attacked him.
He suffered suspected broken ribs and injuries to his face and chest.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on: 0845 600 8000 or alternatively on the confidential Crimestoppers line: 0800 555 111.

Injured man found in County Tyrone
Detectives in County Tyrone are investigating an incident at the weekend in which a man was found with serious head injuries. The 54-year-old man was found in his home in the Innishmore Gardens area of Coalisland in Dungannon, shortly before 6.30pm yesterday evening.

County Tyrone man convicted of benefit fraud
A County Tyrone man has been convicted of benefit fraud. John Finlay, 52, of Seein Road, Sion Mills , appeared at Omagh Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with obtaining benefits to which he was not entitled. Mr Finlay was fined £300 for claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance to the value of £5,094 while failing to disclose his savings.

Man dies in Newtownards road crash
A man has died following a road traffic collision on the Bangor Road in Newtownards, County Down this morning. A white coloured Ford Transit van left the road and collided with a low-loader vehicle that was parked on the road, shortly before 10:20am. There were no other injuries in the incident.

A 54-year-old man has been arrested in suspicion of murder in connection with the death of an elderly man on 30 June in County Tyrone. The 84-year-old man was found dead at an address in Blackwater Road, Dromore. Police investigating the death made two arrests on Tuesday.

The PSNI have have issued an appeal for information following a shooting incident in Newtownabbey, County Antrim. At about 10pm on Tuesday 24 August, a man, aged in his 20s, was shot in the leg in an attack at Knockenagh Avenue. Police, who have described the incident as a "brutal attack" are working to establish the motive for the shooting.
