Donegal girl died from 'injuries to the body'

A post-mortem that was carried out on the bodies of a girl and her mother in County Donegal, has revealed the girl died from injuries to her body.

The bodies of seven-year-old Katelyn Innis and her mother Catriona were discovered at Whitehorn Close in Letterkenny, just after 3:00pm on Tuesday.

The girl was found dead three days after she made her first Holy Communion.

It is not known how her mother died, but Gardai say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Dr Michael Curtis, the Deputy State Pathologist for the Irish Republic carried out the examinations.

Detectives were called to the scene after the pair had not been seen over the past few days.
