NI Students Expected To Outperform Again
Northern Ireland GCSE results will be delivered today, to up to 35,000 students across the province.
The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), will deliver the results two days ahead of other main examination boards across the UK.
The CCEA anticipates that NI students will once again outperform their counterparts in England, Wales and Scotland.
The CCEA has set up a helpline to support worried students and parents, which will be in operation from 9.00am until 5.00pm, from Wednesday 15 until 28 August.
Martin Quinn, Head of Examinations Administration at CCEA, said: “Our dedicated team is on hand to offer support, guidance and advice to students and parents who have any concerns.”
“We also offer an accelerated re-marking service for GCE students and will ensure that any centres requesting to have students’ scripts re-marked have an outcome within 10 days.”

GCSE Results On The Rise In NI
Around 30,000 students across Northern Ireland have received their GCSE results today, 23 August, resulting in a 0.7% rise in passing grades A*-C. Approximately 81.1% of NI GCSE entries secured passing grades with around 10% receiving the top A* grade. The performance gap widened between boys and girls with 85.

CCEA set up exam helpline
Northern Ireland’s exams body, the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), has set up a special helpline service to support anxious students and parents awaiting GCE, GCSE and A and AS Level exam results, which are due to be released over the next few weeks.

Northern Ireland's Education Minister has announced the return of GCSE and A-Level examinations next year, however he warned it would not be "business as usual". Mr Weir said that there would be significant reductions in assessment across a range of qualifications.
