Baby Escapes Injury In Petrol Bomb Attack
An 18-day-old baby came close to serious injury following a petrol bomb attack in north Belfast.
Two homes in Twaddell Avenue were attacked at about 11.00pm on Tuesday night.
A man, who did not want to be identified, was sitting with his baby son when the petrol bombers struck and the man said that his child could have been burned to death if the petrol bomb had came through the window.
The man saw a flash at the side window of the house followed by a bang and flames before he grabbed the child and ran upstairs.
The man said it was the second attack on his family in three weeks and both houses that came under attack received sustained scorch damage but no one was injured.
Police said they were called to the area after a group of people had gathered at the scene.
