Semtex discovered following Real IRA suspect's arrest
Police in the Republic of Ireland have discovered Semtex explosive in a house where they arrested a suspected Real IRA man earlier this week.
The man was one of two people arrested in Limerick on Wednesday evening when police raided a house in the Garrowen area of the city.
Police seized an AK47 assault rifle and grenades during the operation as well as what was described as a considerable amount of ammunition.
The arrest and arms find is likely to cause further harm to the Real IRA's operations in the Republic following on from the current divisions between its leadership and its members currently residing in southern prisons.
