95 New Jobs For Ballymena Tobacco Firm
Tobacco company Gallaher is set to create 95 new jobs at its plant in Ballymena.
The move comes as the closure of the firm's factory in Cardiff is announced. It will mean the loss of 184 jobs for the Welsh city.
The firm was acquired by Japan Tobacco in April, who say the move follows an extensive review of manufacturing operations and UK market conditions, conducted as "part of the integration plan for Gallaher".
The Cardiff factory was established in 1961, manufacturing approximately 330 million cigars annually.
The factory will cease operations in September 2009.
The majority of Cardiff's production will be transferred to the Lisnafillan factory in Northern Ireland.
