Carrick Rocked By Disturbances
Major disturbances in loyalist areas of Carrickfergus at the weekend were bad enough to close roads for a time.
At one stage, police reported up to 200 people to be involved in the trouble, during which a man in his 30s was seriously assaulted.
The latest violence follows continuing tension between factions associated with the loyalist Ulster Defence Association (UDA) that has even involved shooting incidents over the summer months.
Several people were arrested on foot of the weekend trouble, with two of those involved facing attempted murder charges.

Petrol Bombs And Improvised Devices Thrown At Police In L'Derry
Over 70 petrol bombs and two improvised devices were thrown at police officers in L'Derry on Thursday, 12 July. The PSNI were forced to fire plastic baton rounds in response to the trouble. Makeshift barricades were also set alight on a number of roads. Three men, aged 18, 22 and 50 were arrested.

Belfast Denounces Festive 'Jeer'
Christmas celebrations at Belfast City Hall were last night over-shadowed by sectarian violence. Rival groups of teens spilled onto the street amid the annual festive lights switch-on. Youths hurled missiles between North Street and Castle Street, where fires were started. Two vehicles were also damaged during the riots.

SDLP delegation to discuss loyalist violence with Minister
SDLP North Antrim MLA Sean Farren has said the activities of loyalist paramilitaries presents a threat to a new generation and “requires a new response”. Mr Farren was speaking ahead of a meeting with NIO Minister Lord Rooker concerning the recent ongoing loyalist feud between the UVF and LVF as well as attacks on Catholic homes in Ahoghill.
