Shootings Probed
There have been two shootings – one on either side of the border - over the last few days, most recently when a men and a woman escaped serious injury after shots were fired at a house in Coleraine, County Londonderry.
Two shots were fired into the living room and a bedroom of a house at Ashdale in the Harpur's Hill area on Sunday evening.
One man was cut by broken glass but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
A PSNI spokesman said a motive for the shooting had yet to be established. Detectives in Coleraine have urged witnesses to contact them.
Meanwhile, Gardaí are investigating an unconnected shooting incident that took place in licensed premises on Dublin's Barry Road on Saturday evening.
Two men made their way into the bar and approached a man in the toilets.
One of the men then fired a sawn off shotgun, wounding the 25 year old.
Both men left the scene on foot while the injured man was taken to the city's Mater Hospital.
His condition is not known.

Two people have escaped injury after shots were reportedly fired at a house in Co L'Derry. A gang of masked men smashed the front door of the property in the Dove Gardens are on Thursday, 21 September, however they failed to get in. The men broke the windows of a vehicle parked outside, according to the PSNI.

A man has been left badly shaken after shots were fired at a house in Craigavon, Co Armagh. The incident happened at a property in the Enniskeen area at around 1.10am on Thursday, 05 October. A man, who was in the house at the time, was not injured however he was left badly shaken.
