Nesbitt To Star In 'Cold Feet' - Poland Style

Home-growth TV star - Coleraine's own James Nesbitt - is in line for a whole new wave of fans, now that the hit show, 'Cold Feet' has been sold to Polish TV.

Granada International has licensed the format rights for the multi-award winning drama series to one of Poland's top commercial broadcasters, TVN.

The deal sees TVN acquiring the entire UK series as well as producing their own version of Cold Feet, the highly successful ITV1 drama which starred an ensemble cast including James Nesbitt (Murphy's Law), Helen Baxendale (Friends), Fay Ripley (Bon Voyage), Hermione Norris (Kingdom), John Thomson (Mobile) and Robert Bathurst (My Dad's the Prime Minister).

The series was created by BAFTA award-winning writer Mike Bullen (Life Begins, Tripping Over).

Dariusz Gasiorowski, Director of the Drama Production Unit, TVN Poland commented: "Cold Feet really appeals to us as a very smart, long running piece of television drama.

"We strongly believe the compelling characters and storylines that combine high drama and full on comedy will make it a winner with Polish audiences."

Nesbitt - already a household name to his local and UK-wide fans - can look forward to being recognised in Northern Ireland by his new Polish fans, so many of whom have now established themselves in a 'second home' as part of the recent influx of European nationals to the Province.
