Armagh GAA fans blamed for attack on police station
Gaelic football supporters have been blamed for an attack on a police station in Lurgan, Co Armagh.
On Sunday evening a crowd of around 100 people attacked a police station in the town centre following the historic win of the Armagh County side over Kerry on Sunday.
During the attack police said that a security camera was damaged and a petrol bomb was thrown at the station. The crowd later clashed with loyalists in the centre of the town.
An Irish tricolour was also placed on the nearby war memorial.
PSNI Lurgan Sector Commander Inspector Kenneth Annett said he was disappointed that during the victory celebrations a few people had chosen to attack the police station.
One police officer sustained minor injuries as the police attempted to intervene between the rival groups.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police link hostage incident to attack on police station
Police have linked a gun attack on a police station on Wednesday night with a hostage incident in Co Antrim. A van used in the shooting of Randalstown PSNI station on Wednesday evening is believed to have been the vehicle stolen earlier in the evening from a family who were held hostage by a gang of men at a house in Craigstown Road in the town.

Man Arrested Over Dissident Republican Activity
A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dissident republican activity in Lurgan, County Armagh. He was taken to Antrim Police Station on Monday for questioning. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old-man has been released after being arrested in Lurgan on Saturday also of dissident republican activity.

Man Arrested Over 1975 Bomb Attack
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal bomb attack on a bar on the Shankill Road over 36 years ago. Five people were killed and 60 others were injured in the attack at Mountainview Tavern on 5 April 1975. The 54-year-old is being questioned at Antrim police station.

Work On Resurfacing Project To Begin In Portadown
Work on a £140,000 resurfacing scheme for A3 Northway, Portadown, is to start on Monday, 17 October. The resurfacing extends from outside Portadown railway station towards Armagh, taking in the junctions of West Street and Corcrain Road. The scheme is due for completion on Saturday, 29 October.
