Movieoke Hits Belfast
Aspiring film stars will be given the chance to showcase their talents with the launch of the Jameson Movioke competition in association with the annual Belfast Film Festival.
Film talent throughout Ireland will be encouraged to act out their favourite scenes, impersonate their favourite actor or create their own short film for the opportunity to win fantastic prizes.
The competition is open to anyone over 18 and no previous film experience is required. Scenes can be filmed on home digital video cameras and uploaded to www.jamesonmovieoke.com
Entries will be accepted up to 15 April.
The Jameson Movieoke team will also be visiting five venues between 26 March and 13 April and winners will be drawn at the end of the competion. Prizes on offer include a home cinema, a trip for two to London and an annual subscription to www.lovefilm.com
As part of the competition Jameson and Arts and Business are also funding the opportunity for seven groups from Belfast to be trained and mentored by a professional film maker in the filming of their own one minute Movieoke competition entry.
Karen Anderson, Marketing Manager of Dillon Bass commented: "Whether you are a budding Robert De Niro, Audrey Hepburn or Bruce Willis, everyone can get involved and rather than doing impressions in front of the mirror at home, there is an opportunity to win fantastic prizes with Jameson."
Anne-Marie Murphy, Marketing Manager for the Belfast Film Festival said: "The Belfast Film Festival has consistently showcased for its audience the finest local and international cinema. The increase in the media profile of the local film industry, with high profile visits of Julie Christie to last years Festival, Mischa Barton, Heather Graham and Bill Murray has benefited all involved."
