Police appeal after violent assaults
A 49-year-old man has been assaulted by a number of men at his home in Lisburn in the early hours of this morning.
At around 12.50am three masked men forced their way into the Manor Park home of the victim and assaulted him with baseball bats as he lay in bed. The assailants also caused damage to the interior of the house and a number of other items.
Police have also issued an appeal for information after a man was savagely beaten and then slashed with a knife in Antrim last Friday.
The attack happened at around 9.30pm when the victim was set upon by a group of about nine to 10 people in the Rathmore Gardens area of the town.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Elsewhere, three men, aged 49, 34 and 28, have appeared before a special court in Ballymena yesterday charged with possession and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
The charges relate to the seizure of £60,000 of herbal cannabis in Coleraine on August 25. A significant amount of cash was also recovered in a follow-up search.

Murder Charge Follows Omagh Stabbing
A woman has been charged with the murder of a 37-year-old man in Co Tyrone. The victim was stabbed in a flat on Hospital Road in the Omagh shortly after 3am on Monday. The 36-year-old woman is due to appear at Strabane Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

Alliance Councillors across the North Coast have called for "community cooperation" following a slew of assaults across the North Coast. It was reported that two men were observed assaulting a man in a licensed premises in the Eglinton Street area of Portrush on Wednesday3 January, shortly before 11 pm.

Man Charged Over Co L'Derry Bar Assaults
A man is facing a series charges following a number of bar assaults in Co L'Derry over the weekend. The 31-year-old was apprehended in Claudy on Saturday night, 24 August, following a disturbance at a bar on church street when he reportedly assaulted a number of customers.
