BoI shortlisted for Call Centre of The Year Award
The Bank of Ireland's Banking 365 service has made it through to the finals of the European Call Centre of the Year Awards.
The annual European Call Centre of the Year Awards, organised by Call Centre Focus magazine, are designed to recognise the achievements of call and contact centres throughout Europe.
This year the competition attracted some 350 entries among them the Bank of Ireland’s increasingly popular telephone and internet banking service Banking 365 which has been shortlisted for the European Call Centre of the Year Awards.
Angela Kearney, Marketing and Business Services, Bank of Ireland, said: “Bank of Ireland is delighted to have made it to the shortlist with our Banking 365 product. We have worked hard to ensure that we deliver the level of service our customers expect and deserve. We believe that being shortlisted alongside such companies as British Airways, Scottish Power and BSkyB demonstrates the high level of professionalism employed by our call centre personnel.”
The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday September 17 at the Hilton Hotel, NEC, Birmingham.

'Economy Improving' Says Bank, Despite Downgrade
Ulster Bank has announced that improving exports and more consumer spending has led to an improving economy, despite yesterday's downgrading of Ireland's credit rating. Ulster Bank said today it was revising its forecasts for Irish economic growth in 2010 upwards, predicts average annual GDP growth of 1%, up from -0.5% previously.

Northern Bank posts record annual results
The annual results from the Northern Bank have revealed pre-tax profits of £111m up 13% on the previous corresponding year-end figures. The results include a £19.9m profit in relation to the disposal of subsidiary company Northern Bank Insurance Services to Wealth Management Europe Holdings another subsidiary of National Australia Bank.
