Tills To Ring This Twelfth
Major Belfast stores are poised to open their doors this Twelfth as for the first time, for many, the lure of leisure shopping is being added to that of the annual Orange parades.
Major retailers across Northern Ireland are leading the way for shops to open with Asda and Tesco joining Marks & Spencer to open for business in several of its Belfast premises.
It's not just in Belfast either as shopping centres across the Province, including the huge Junction One and many high street stores such as Xtravision will be operating as usual this Saturday.
However, its not open house right across the board as Belfast's new flagship £400m Victoria Square shopping complex, which initially vowed to trade on July 12 when it opened four months ago is now to stay closed, though retailers have said they plan to open for business next year.
While retailers themselves decided they would like to open on July 12, there are ongoing discussions with the parade organisers as there are still issues to be resolved.
Although M&S have traded in other parts of Northern Ireland on the Twelfth before, this is the first time they will have done so in the Belfast area, with the Upper Newtownards Road, Lisburn Road and Newtownabbey branches open.

NIFRS Launch NI-Wide Recruitment Drive
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has launched a recruitment drive for On-Call Firefighters for 46 Fire Stations across NI. On-Call Firefighters are part-time Firefighters who respond to emergency incidents in their local area, including fires, road traffic collisions and other specialist service calls.
