Divers raise boat in Wexford sinking tragedy
The divers from the Republic's naval and police services have refloated the fishing boat that went down on Sunday claiming the lives of five people – including three people from the same family.
The Pisces boat, which set off from New Ross in Co Wexford with 10 people aboard, sank on Sunday morning – two hours into a journey to a sailing competition. Local fishing boats arrived at the scene shortly after a distress call was made at 11am, but four men had drowned by that time. The body of a missing teenager was recovered yesterday afternoon.
Now, the divers have raised the Pisces vessel, which had been lying in 36 feet of water a mile offshore, and investigators will now examine the structure to determine the cause of the tragedy. It has been reported that the preliminary inspection has revealed no obvious cause for the sinking.
The dead family members have been named as Seamus Doyle, his father-in-law Jim Cooney, and it is expected that the body of the teenager will be named as Seamus's son Mark later today. The two other victims were Martin Roche and John Cullen.

Death Charge Skipper In Court
A fisherman has been charged with causing the deaths of his two crewmen and with neglecting his duty on the ship by not maintaining a proper lookout. A report by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch found this had played a major part in causing the crash of the Greenhill, a vessel which sank off the County Down coast in 2006.

Surfer in critical condition in hospital
A surfer who went missing off the north west coast on Monday is in a critical condition in hospital. A major search and rescue operation immediately got under way after the man's board was washed up on the beach at Downhill in Co Londonderry at about 1pm.
