Road Tragedy Statistics Mount
Following an earlier road tragedy in Co Antrim which saw a 28-year-old motorcyclist fatally injured in a crash, a woman has now died in hospital after being critically injured in a road accident in Co Down on Sunday.
The accident happened on Church Street Downpatrick at about 7am.
The victim, named as 19-year-old Jenny Rowden from the town is believed have been a passenger in the car which left the road and struck a lamppost.
A man who was also in the car was taken to Downpatrick Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police said that one man has since been charged by police over the accident.
The Co Antrim crash happened on Monday on the Ballymullock Road, Larne, when the man's motorcycle and a car were in collision.
These latest deaths brings the number of people who have lost their lives on Northern Ireland's roads to 64 so far this year.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old girl has been taken to hospital following a hit-and-run in east Belfast.
It happened on the Kings Road near the Tullycarnet estate at about on Monday.
Police say the girl sustained leg and hip injuries after a blue van or small lorry struck her.
The police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Investigation Launched After Man Stabbed In Armagh
Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed in Armagh. The assault happened at a house in the Terraskane Road area just after 12.15am on Monday, 20 November. The victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen, was taken to hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Woman and child die in separate road accidents
Police are appealing for information after a woman and child died in two separate road accidents overnight. In Belcoo, Co Fermanagh, a three-year-old girl died after being hit by a car. The accident happened on the Railway Road at around 9.15pm on Monday. The girl is the third child to die on Northern Ireland's roads this year.
