Army helicopter ditches in Lough Foyle
An army Gazelle helicopter has ditched in Lough Foyle on a return flight to Ballykelly army base.
The pilot and one other person, believed to have been a passenger, were treated in hospital for shock and minor injuries.
The incident occurred at 05:30 BST following what was described as a routine flight on Friday morning.
The helicopter is understood to have got into difficulties and was forced to ditch in Lough Foyle. The helicopter came down in shallow water a short distance from the shore.
An army spokesperson said that it was not thought that there was any terrorist involvement in the crash.
Both occupants of the helicopter, one of whom who is reported to have sustained a broken leg, were able to get clear of the helicopter and managed to receive assistance from a nearby army installation.
An accident investigation team are on the way to the scene.

ITV Documentary Was 'Misleading', Says Ofcom
Ofcom has ruled that an ITV documentary mislead viewers in a significant breach of audience trust after it falsely labelled computer game footage. This follows the discovery last year that footage used during a programme about Gaddafi and the IRA was actually from a video game and not filmed by the IRA as the broadcaster originally claimed.

ITV 'IRA Footage' Was Video Game
ITV have admitted that footage of a 1988 IRA attack, film which they claimed was real, was actually taken from a video game. The coverage was included in an ITV documentary which discussed Gaddafi and the IRA and how deposed Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi sent weapons to the IRA in the mid-1980s.

Lost 1958 Royal Navy 'Dragonfly' Helicopter Found In Lough Foyle
The site of a are Royal Navy 'Dragonfly' helicopter which crashed in 1958 has been identified as part of the Northern Ireland 3D Coastal Survey of the entire NI coastline. The survey has been commissioned by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) Marine & Fisheries Division.

RAF Flies Away From Aldergrove
The last RAF squadron based in Northern Ireland has left Aldergrove, the Ministry of Defence has said. Yesterday, 230 'Tiger' Squadron took off in a helicopter diamond formation from Aldergrove for their new base at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire. The flight of the Pumas marked the end of the RAF's 91-year history of flying from Northern Ireland.

Security Alert In Ballykinler
A security alert has forced the closure of the Commons Road area in Ballykinler, Co Down. The area was sealed off following the discovery of a suspicious object by police on Monday morning. Army technical officers have been informed and is has been reported that a police helicopter is also at the scene.
