Strike Looms At Fujitsu
Industrial action looms in Co Antrim as staff at the hi-tech Fujitsu manufacturing plant in Antrim are set to go on strike later in a dispute over pay.
Members of the Communications Workers Union have already rejected an offer of a 4% pay increase.
They claim the company is attempting to drive down wages with Northern Ireland workers paid considerably less than colleagues at its Birmingham plant.
The union said that in a vote on strike action, 60% of the workers voted in favour.
"It costs our members money and it harms the business, but clearly these people who have never had occasion to strike before see this as a last resort," said union representative Laurence Houston.
"The union has said quite clearly we remain committed to a negotiated settlement.
"On this issue, the fact that management have not seen fit to come back to try and negotiate a settlement does not augur well for the future."

Strike action at Aldergrove suspended pending talks
Security staff at Belfast International Airport have returned to their jobs just hours after they commenced strike action following fresh talks between union officials and their employers. Around 100 security staff employed by aviation security firm ICTS went on strike from 4am to 8am on Wednesday May 7 in protest over pay and conditions.

Hovis Workers Agree Increased Pay Offer
A majority of Hovis workers have accepted an increased pay offer and strike action has now ended. Unite the union welcomed the offer and said it was as "decisive victory for workforce achieved through collective organisation and industrial militancy".

Union Confirms Council Strike Action
The union GMB has confirmed its council and school workers are to go on strike next month. The industrial action was voted in by three to one and has resulted in a one-day strike on 10 July. In a statement, GMB said it is in a dispute over pay. The strike will involve staff in Northern Ireland, England and Wales.

NI social workers begin two-day strike
Social workers from across Northern Ireland have begun a two-day strike following a dispute over pay and leave conditions. Around 1,600 members of trade union, Nipsa are taking industrial action today and tomorrow following a breakdown in talks with management on Monday.
