Accused Clare Man Remanded After Derry Rape
A County Clare man has been remanded in custody, after appearing at Londonderry Magistrates Court charged with the multiple rape and attempted murder of a married woman in Londonderry.
Patrick McNamara, 32, of no fixed abode, denies attempted murder, rape, assault and making threats to kill in a house in Ardanlee in Culmore on Tuesday.
A police officer told the court the accused allegedly raped the married woman four times.
Mr McNamara was remanded in custody to 8 October.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

A 31-year-old Slovakian man has appeared in Dungannon Magistrates court charged with the rape of a woman in County Londonderry at the weekend. Marian Struhar, 31, from Lindsayville in Ballyronan, spoke only once to confirm his name.

A 23-year-old Tyrone man has been remanded in custody charged with the rape and attempted murder of a woman at the weekend. The accused appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Monday morning over an incident that is alleged to have happened on the Old Castle Road in Newtownstewart early on Saturday.

A 22-year-old man who appeared at Omagh Magistrates Court this morning charged in connection with a serious sexual assault in County Tyrone in the early hours of yesterday morning, has denied the charges. Dennis Hugh McDermott, 22, from Newtown Place, Strabane, appeared in court charged with rape and causing grievous bodily harm.

Police in L'Derry have arrested three people and seized drugs worth an estimated £600. The arrests were made following a proactive policing operation in the city. On Monday, 18 November, officers observed suspicious behaviour from a 39-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman in the Strand Road area.
