Bakery’s staff training is 'recipe' for success
Northern Ireland’s leading bakery, Allied Bakeries Ireland, is celebrating the ‘graduation’ of 18 supervisors and managers who have completed the company’s Management and Supervisory Programme.
Allied Bakeries Ireland, whose major brands include Kingsmill and Sunblest, set up the programme last year as part of the company’s commitment to the ongoing development of its staff.
The programme covered various aspects of the workplace including managing activities, resources, people and information. Between August 2001 and May 2002, the participants were involved in a mix of activities and learning methods ranging from tutorial based seminars to self-study distance learning units.
Each successful candidate was presented with the NEBS Management Introductory Certificate in Management, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health Managing Safely Certificate and the Allied Bakeries Certificate of Achievement.
Allied Bakeries Ireland is Northern Ireland’s biggest bakery with major brands including Kingsmill, Sunblest, and Allinson. The bakery supplies both own label and branded products to all key retailers in Northern Ireland and the Republic.
