NI football legend tees off corporate golf event
Profectus Special Events has announced plans of their first corporate hospitality package, the Norman Whiteside Golf Classic.
Some of Ireland's most famous footballers will be lining up to face each other and the cream of the Irish business community in the first-ever Norman Whiteside Golf Classic, which takes place at Castle Templepatrick on August 27 2002.
Names of those celebrities due to line up alongside companies from both the Irish and British business communities have yet to be confirmed, but the prospect of competing for the tournament trophy with and against greats such as Pat Jennings, Martin O'Neill, Sammy McIlroy, Frank Stapleton and Gerry Armstrong should have more than a few bosses reaching for the company purchase order pad.
Commenting on the up coming event, Norman Whiteside said: "Let's face it, there's nothing new about corporate golf days. What will set every Profectus event aside from the competition is the key factor in attracting companies to enter, namely the quality of the celebrities.
"Many golf days rely on one or two names, and then look to bit-part TV soap actors to make up the numbers. Our attitude is that, if we cannot secure the top sporting personalities that will make our event a must-enter, then we won't run the event at all."
The tournament will take place at Northern Ireland's newest four-star golf and leisure resort, Hilton Templepatrick, set in 220 acres within the Castle Upton Estate – only nine miles from Belfast International Airport.
Following the day's golf, participants get to enjoy a social evening in the hotel before departing after breakfast the next day.
With places still available for this year's tournament anyone interested should phone 01925 758899.
