Pensioner attacked with meat cleaver
A 65-year-old man suffered head injuries after he was attacked in north Belfast last night.
The pensioner was walking his dog in Duncairn Gardens around 9.10pm when a number of men got out of a white Hyundai car and attacked him with a meat cleaver.
It is reported that the men tried to hit him in the face but the man received injuries to the back of the head and shoulder.
It is understood the man is now stable in hospital.

A County Antrim man found dead in a hotel room in Ibiza sustained head injuries, according to Ireland's expert State Pathologist. Alan Drennan, 21, was found dead just 24 hours after arriving in Ibiza. Mr Drennan was detained by Spanish police when he arrived on the holiday island, and friends claim that he was attacked by the police.

Man Attacked By Masked Men In Co Antrim
A man has been injured after being attacked by masked men in Co Antrim. Three individuals, who were armed with bats, assaulted the man in an alleyway in Greenland in Carrickfergus on Tuesday, 31 May. The victim sustained injuries to his arm and side. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Man Attacked In North Belfast
A man has been stabbed and attacked with a hammer in north Belfast. The 26-year-old was stabbed in the back and beaten on the head with a hammer by three masked men at Victoria Parade on Sunday. He is being treated in hospital for his injuries, however they are not believed to be life threatening.

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information after a man was left with serious head injuries following an attack in the city yesterday morning. Two assailants attacked the man in Sackville Street shortly after 2.30am on Tuesday morning.

The victim sustained injuries to his head and deep cuts to his arm and back. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
