FG Wilson reach Manufacturing Awards final
Antrim-based FG Wilson (Engineering) Ltd., exporters of prime and stand-by power generating equipment, have reached the finalist stage in the 23rd Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Manufacturing Excellence awards 2002.
Recognised as the leading industry awards scheme for UK manufacturing, the process assesses all areas of the business with awards for excellence in six categories recognising innovative work practices, competitiveness and efficiency. FG Wilson is one of 18 companies nominated for the awards.
Commenting on his company's nomination, Mark Sweeney, Managing Director, FG Wilson said: "We are delighted to have reached the finals of the MX 2002 Awards, particularly since we were shortlisted alongside some of the premier manufacturing companies in the UK. We believe this is a reflection of the high calibre of our people and our commitment to continuous improvement which is now underpinned by the successful implementation of 6 Sigma throughout our organisation."
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 26 at the Intercontinental Hotel, London.
Guest of honour, Nigel Griffiths MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Small Business will present the award.
