Pharma Group Celebrates Backing For UCF
An NI pharmacy group is being congratulated for its fund-raising efforts on behalf of cancer research and care.
The MediCare Pharmacy Group has raised over £30,000 for the Ulster Cancer Foundation's (UCF) Think Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

MediCare Pharmacy Group staff held a range of fundraising initiatives, including the Pink Link, in stores across Northern Ireland to help support local women with the disease.
The £30,000 raised by the MediCare Pharmacy Group will go towards supporting UCF's bra and swimwear fitting service which is provided on an individual basis for women who have had breast cancer surgery. UCF is the only local charity to offer this service.
At the announcement Joyce Savage, Head of Appeals and Marketing, UCF said: "Congratulations to MediCare Pharmacy group staff and customers for this tremendous fundraising achievement.
"Over 1,000 local women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and the £30,000 raised by MediCare will go towards meeting the growing demand for us to offer our bra fitting service at additional venues across Northern Ireland.
"The service is now available at Cancer Choices, Carland Road, Dungannon and we will be extending the fitting service to Southern Area Hospice Services, St. John's House, Courtenay Hill, Newry in the coming weeks," she explained.
Michael Guerin, Managing Director, MediCare Pharmacy Group said: "We are delighted to be able to make such a significant donation to UCF. This is the first year that MediCare has been involved in the Think Pink! campaign and our staff really got behind the fundraising effort.
"We would like to thank all our customers across our 54 Northern Ireland outlets for their support.
"The benefit of supporting a local charity means that we can be sure that money raised will be spent to help women in Northern Ireland who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"This year, we have pledged to support UCF's bra and swimwear fitting service which is provided free of charge at centres in Belfast, Londonderry and Dungannon," he continued.

Roads Service Ready For Winter Weather
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has confirmed that the Department's winter service team is prepared to tackle the current cold snap. Around 300 staff and 130 gritters are ready to salt main roads, while 12 snow blowers are available for deployment if necessary. UCF hosts Challenge of Cancer Conference
