'Suicides' Case Reopened
The police have revealed that two people have been arrested in connection with the deaths of a man and a woman in Coleraine. An inquest initially found a verdict of suicide in relation to the deaths of Trevor Buchanan and Lesley Howell in 1991. However, a police spokesperson said detectives from its crime operations department had now reopened their investigation and a man and a woman are now being questioned in connection with the deaths.
Jackpot For Robbers
Gambling slot machines have been robbed with a substantial sum of cash stolen during a burglary in Co Armagh. The incident was in Lurgan earlier this week at a complex on the Portadown Road between 1am and 2.30am on Monday. Police said a substantial amount of coins was taken as well as the floats from two cash tills. In all, nine gaming machines have been damaged by the burglars entered the premises by forcing a hole in the roof of the complex.
Cattle Cull Cash Cleared
The NI Executive has agreed to give £7m to help cover the cost of a cattle cull in Northern Ireland following the dioxin contamination scare. The money will also help compensate beef farmers and pig processors for their losses. Northern Ireland Agriculture Minister Michelle Gildernew said she hoped the money would ease the hardship some farms were experiencing.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Industry urges NI to ‘play safe’ with cash cards
Cash machine users were today advised to keep playing safe when making cash withdrawals, despite fraudulent cash withdrawals in Northern Ireland falling by 8% to £368,000 over the past year. However, despite a fall in Northern Ireland figures the rest of the UK saw an average rise of 85% in fraudulent cash withdrawals over the same period.

Nationwide has apologised to its customers in Northern Ireland after money they withdrew from Northern Bank cash machines was not debited from their accounts.
