Women in Property host conference on city life
Leading experts in urban regeneration will be attending the Association of Women in Property's National Conference, which will be held in Bristol from 27-29 September 2002.
The City of Bristol has attracted acclaim for its imaginative restoration of the urban landscape, and the conference will be held at different venues in order to show delegates examples of its diversity.
Speakers at the event will include Gary Halman, Chairman of the Planning & Development Division of the RICS, Professor Murray Stewart, from the University of the West of England and Ken Dytor, Founder and Chief Executive of Urban Catalyst.
The conference begins on Friday 27 September with a welcome reception on Bristol's redeveloped waterfront, while Saturday's sessions will take place in one of the city's major urban regeneration schemes at Temple Quay, followed by a tour of Bristol to look at key projects that include the award-winning science, nature and art venue @Bristol.
The annual Women in Property gala dinner will be held on Saturday night in Brunel's Passenger Shed next to Temple Meads Railway Station, a former railway shed now converted to a conference and exhibition facility.
The conference finishes with Sunday Brunch at the Hotel du Vin, formerly the Sugar House, an 18th century warehouse and now one of Bristol's most exclusive hotels and restaurants.
Louise Hinks, National Chairman of Women in Property, and partner at law firm Laytons, commented: "All our speakers have experience and expertise of urban regeneration in a variety of cities. We want our speakers and delegates to see what Bristol has achieved and use that as a springboard to explore further the issues involved in regeneration."
