Stab Accused For Court
A man is recovering in hospital after a serious knife attack in Co Down.
Following the stabbing incident that took place in Castlewellan, in the early hours of Sunday morning, a man (aged 22) is to appear in court on a charge of attempted murder. The victim was taken to hospital where his injuries were described as serious but not life threatening.
The man is due to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates Court today, (Monday).
Meanwhile, in a separate violent incident, an 18-year-old youth has had his jaw broken in an attack in Magherafelt in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It happened during trouble in the Queen Street area of the town around 2am.
A 22-year-old man suffered bruising to his face. Both he and the youth were treated in hospital for their injuries.
Two men, aged 25 and 29, were arrested but have since been released on bail.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A man is in hospital following a shooting incident in west Belfast on Friday morning, 06 May. The shooting happened in the Distillery Court area. The man's condition is unknown. Police are currently in attendance at the scene. No further information is available.

Man Shot In North Belfast
A man is being treated in hospital following a shooting incident in north Belfast. Police have reported that a 20-year-old man was injured in a paramilitary-style shooting at about 01:00 on Monday morning at Havana Walk in Ardoyne. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. An investigation into the shooting is underway.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.
