Queen begins Northern Ireland Jubilee tour
The Queen has flown into Northern Ireland today for the start of a three-day tour to mark her Golden Jubilee.
Accompanied by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh the Queen will attend a garden party at Loughry College in County Tyrone where around 1,200 people are expected to attend. The Queen will also host a reception at Hillsborough Castle with around 3,000 guests invited.
The Queen and her husband are to also attend a special service to mark her Golden Jubilee at St Anne's Cathedral in Belfast. The leaders of the four main churches will be among the congregation.
In response to the high profile nature of her visit the police have mounted a major security operation in preparation for her arrival.
Every available police officer is expected to be on duty whilst the Queen carries out the engagements.
Security will be tight at all venues and rigorous checks will be carried out.

Over 800 young people from schools in Lisburn and Castlereagh attended a hard-hitting road safety message at the PSNI Road Safe Roadshow on 19 November. The roadshow, supported by AXA Insurance and the Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership, aims to educate young drivers about the dangers of irresponsible driving.

Man Extradited From US Over Historical Child Sex Abuse
A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of indecent assaults on a child in the 1970s. Damien Desmond Anderson, originally from L'Derry, was extradited from the US to face justice. He was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against a female who was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.
