Man accused of Derry stab attacks appears in court
A man has appeared before a court in County Londonderry on charges relating to an alleged attack in which two people were stabbed.
Patrick Gibbons, 22, of Strand Road, Londonderry appeared before Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday April 3.
He faced two charges of malicious wounding, one of making threats to kill and attempting to hijack a car.
A detective constable said the accused made no reply when charged.
Mr Gibbons was remanded in custody to appear before Londonderry Magistrates Court on 25 April.
The charges relate to an incident in which a 42-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy were stabbed in Derry on Monday.

A man has appeared in court today charged with the abduction and assault of a couple in Londonderry. Marvin Canning, aged 45 from Glendara in the Brandywell area, has been charged in relation to an incident in High Park in the Creggan area of Londonderry on Tuesday. He is the brother-in-law of Sinn Fein’s Martin McGuinness.

David White (39) appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with four offences, which included conspiracy to cause an explosion, possession of an explosive substance with intent to endanger life, and making an explosive device.

A 25-year-old man has appeared in court today charged with the murder of two teenagers in Co Armagh five years ago. Steven Leslie Brown denied murdering Andrew Robb, 19, and David McIlwaine, 18, on 19 February 2000. Both men were stabbed to death after leaving a disco in Tandragee.
