Task Software supplies ASP solution to Calthorpe
Calthorpe Response Maintenance has become the first customer to avail of the TASK Contractor ASP (Application Service Provision) service.
Calthorpe is a growing presence in the local authority and RSL Registered Social Landlord property maintenance market, and required a functionally strong software application to manage its business effectively. ASP greatly simplifies the complete software deployment process by hosting all software and supporting infrastructure in a specialist datacentre, and providing user access over a dial-in facility.
Paul Munday, Calthorpe’s Managing Director, commented: “One other supplier we evaluated could meet our current functional needs, but it rapidly became apparent than none were as innovative or offered the future development potential of TASK. To start with, TASK Contractor will allow Calthorpe to book appointments, allocate resources, print job tickets, record completions and raise invoices.
“Future developments will see us introduce hand-held technology to enable real time contact with the workforce, and web-enablement to allow partner and customer access to part of the system. This exciting partnership between our companies will enable us to use leading edge technology in support of our business processes, without all the normal hassle and cost of software deployment and ongoing management.”
Commenting on the development, Peter McHugh, TASK Business Development Director, added: “We are seeing increasing interest across the whole Local Government market in our ASP proposition. Leaving aside the jargon, our ASP model is all about delivering applications on tap, making software as simple to use and manage as any other utility like water or electricity.
"With the complexities surrounding eGovernment, our ASP approach provides a platform which is cost-effective, scaleable and flexible enough to cater for at this point unknown, future requirements”.
