Work may cover homes, shops, offices, warehouses and other premises, with the number and position of cameras planned to suit the layout and the areas that need to be observed. Installations can use wired or wireless cameras and may include indoor and outdoor equipment, motion detection, night vision and visible or discreet cameras. A typical service includes mounting cameras, connecting them to a recorder or network, configuring recording schedules and setting up access to live or recorded footage on a monitor or compatible device. Installers may also fit digital video recorders or network video recorders, storage, cabling and associated lighting, and integrate CCTV with alarms or entry systems. They can test equipment, explain its operation, investigate faults, replace components and maintain or upgrade existing systems.
