Police Stations, Northern Ireland
Police stations are local facilities used by police forces to support public safety, respond to incidents and investigate crime. Depending on the station, members of the public may be able to report a crime, provide information, discuss a concern or seek guidance about issues such as harassment, anti-social behaviour or missing people. Some services are available in person only at certain locations or at particular times, while many forces also accept reports through telephone or online channels. Stations may provide operational bases for officers and other police staff, with facilities for interviews, casework and, at designated sites, the temporary detention and processing of people in police custody. The services and opening arrangements vary between forces and individual locations; not every station has a public counter or custody suite.
