Financial Advisors, Northern Ireland

Financial advisers help individuals and sometimes businesses plan and make decisions about money. They may review a client's income, assets, debts, goals and attitude to investment risk, then provide recommendations suited to their circumstances. Advice can cover investments, pensions, retirement planning, savings, life assurance and other forms of financial protection. Some advisers offer independent advice across the market, while others are restricted to particular providers or products; the scope of their service should be made clear. Advisers may help clients compare options, arrange financial products and review plans when circumstances change. They can also explain tax considerations relevant to financial decisions, although this does not necessarily include preparing tax returns or giving specialist tax advice. Firms and individuals giving regulated financial advice must be authorised by, or appointed as representatives of a firm authorised by, the Financial Conduct Authority.
