Three Northumbria Burglary Arrests
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Cowgate, following additional police patrols in the area.
At 3pm on Thursday October 29, police received a report of a burglary at Birnham Place, Montagu.
The suspects were disturbed inside the house and made off on to the moor.
The force helicopter attended and helped officers in the area to find three men at Newcastle Golf Course.
A 19-year-old man and two 17-year-old males were charged with burglary and appeared in court on Friday October 30.
The two 17-year-olds were remanded in custody.
All three will appear at court on a future date for the case to be progressed.
Northumbria Police only released details of the operation today.
"The arrests are three of many that have been made in recent months in the Cowgate area of the city," said a police spokeswoman.
"The neighbourhood team has been carrying out additional patrols on the estate as part of an ongoing strategy to build more trust and confidence between residents, police and partner organisations."

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.
