Appeal Over Fatal Bow Stabbing

Police in London have launched a murder investigation after a young man was killed and another injured.

Officers were called at about 9.20pm on Wednesday 13 January to reports of a fight, involving a group of approximately 15 people, in Parnell Road E3, Bow.

They discovered the two victims nearby suffering from stab wounds. Both were taken to the Royal London Hospital.

Isschan Nicholls, 18, of Poplar E14 died early on 15 January.

A post-mortem is due took place on Saturday at the hospital mortuary and gave cause of death as stab wounds to the abdomen and thigh. Next of kin have been informed.

The second victim, aged 17, was treated and discharged.

An incident room has opened at Sutton under DI Andy Booth (HSCC).

Ten people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Flare Attack Boy 'Critical'
A four-year-old boy has been left critically injured after being hit by a distress flare while walking with his family. Police described it as an "horrific incident" in which the rocket flare appeared to have been set off horizontally rather than vertically. The boy was out with his mother, father and baby sister in Romford, Essex.

13 Charged Over Heathrow Runway Protest
Thirteen people have been arrested in connection with a protest held at Heathrow Airport in the early hours of Monday morning. A number of people from a group called Plane Stupid, stormed the northern runway at about 03:30 on Monday. It is understood that the protest was in opposition to the airport's expansion plans.

Witnesses To Violent Assault Sought
Three months after a 59-year old man was left unconscious following an assault in Piccadilly Circus, officers from Westminster Serious Violence Team have today issued seven photos of members of the public who were in the area at the time of the attack.

Help Sought After Distress Flare Attack
Police officers investigating the attempted murder of a four-year-old boy are appealing for help in tracing the remains of the distress flare that caused his critical injuries. They have released details of a flare similar to that used during the attack in Chatteris Avenue, Harold Hill on Saturday 14 November.
