Church Bell Theft Arrest
Police in Fife have arrested a teenager in connection with the theft of a church bell.
The 18-year-old male appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court earlier this week on suspicion of stealing the £15,000 bell from St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Lochgelly, last weekend.
Detectives from Cowdenbeath CID said information from members of the public led to the arrest.
Fife Police recovered the church bell from a commercial premises in the Bellshill area of Glasgow.
Detective Inspector Derek McEwan said: "Following on from that and additional enquiries, we subsequently charged a male with the theft.
"We are continuing to investigate how the item came to be taken to these premises, and would be keen to speak with any member of the public who may have any further information."
Fife Police said they are committed to targeting persons involved in all levels of criminality and urges members of the public to report any suspicious activity to the police by calling 0845 600 5702.

'Unusual' Theft Of Church Bell
Grampian Police are hoping someone will have information about the theft of a church bell in the Marykirk area of Aberdeenshire. The incident occurred between 11am on Sunday 4 April and 10am on Tuesday 6 April 2010, at Marykirk Church. As a result of the incident, the 200-year-old church bell was stolen from its place on the front of the church.

Body Found In River Following Search For Missing Boy
A body has been found from the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire by police searching for a missing boy, believed to be 15-years-old. The boy went missing in the river near Church Lane in Harford on Thursday afternoon. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Three Bailed Following Pepper Spray Attack
A 12-year-old boy and two parents who were arrested after a pepper spray attack at a Kent school have all been released on bail. Kent Police confirmed that the boy had been arrested on suspicion of possessing a prohibited weapon and discharging a noxious substance.
