School Evacuated As Fire Rages
Pupils and staff at Park Primary, South Lodge Primary and Invergordon Academy are being sent home as a precautionary measure whilst fire fighters continue to tackle a fire at a nearby storage shed at East Docks, Invergordon.
Head teachers are currently making arrangements for buses and notifying parents of the school closure.
An oil rig in the Cromarty Firth is also being evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Fire fighters are continuing to tackle the blaze at at large storage shed at East Docks in Invergordon which happened after 4am this morning.
A 200m exclusion zone has been put in place around the premises.
Police said there is no immediate threat to the public, however, the smoke may cause mild irritation.
"Therefore people in the area are being advised to remain indoors with windows and doors closed," said a police spokesman.

Heroic Tyne Firemen Honoured
Two Tyne and Wear firefighters are to be recognised for their bravery at a special ceremony today. Andrew Nelson and Allan Richardson will be presented with the Chief Fire Officer's Commendations for brave and meritorious conduct after saving a man's life. The men took part in a dramatic rescue in the early hours of 4 February.

Firefighters launch four-day strike
More than 1,000 firefighters across Merseyside have begun a four-day strike in protest over planned job cuts. Another four-day stoppage is scheduled to begin two hours after the first one ends.

Fire Fighters Hurt As Bolton House Fire Kills Woman
Three fire fighters have been injured - one of them being seriously burned - as they rescued an elderly woman from a house fire in Bolton. The 71-year-old victim later died, but three other people's lives were saved after being rescued from the blaze, a man in his 70s, a 24-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl.

Suspicious Glasgow Car Fires
Detectives in Glasgow's East End are investigating a spate of vehicle fire attacks in the city yesterday. Shortly after 3.30am police were called to a report of a vehicle fire in Ashvale Crescent, Glasgow. Upon arrival police were advised by Strathclyde Fire Service that four vehicles had been damaged by fire.
