Glasgow Gun Incident Probed
Police in Glasgow are continuing enquiries after a firearm was discharged in a flat in Shettleston, in the east end of the city yesterday.
Two men appeared at a ground floor flat in Shettleston Road near Culross Street around 2pm on Monday and discharged a firearm, resulting in minor damage to the property.
Five adult residents in the flat were uninjured but left very badly shaken following the incident, police said.
The suspects ran off along Shettleston Road towards Baillieston before turning right into Culross Street in Shettleston.
Both men are white, with muscular builds, in their 30s with local accents. Their faces were covered.
One is further described as 6ft, wearing a black hooded jacket and black jogging trousers.
The other is around 6ft 1in - 6ft 2in, wearing a black zipped jacket with a white T- shirt underneath and black jogging trousers.
Detective Sergeant Eddie Waye said: "Our enquiries, so far, indicate that the property was deliberately targeted and that this was not a random act.
"Fortunately, no-one in the flat was injured, albeit the residents have all been left very badly traumatised."
DS Waye continued: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Shettleston Road near Culross Street around 2pm on Monday, who may have seen the suspects or, who can provide any information at all, which might help us with our enquiries, to come forward."
