Man Charged Over Edinburgh Shooting
A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged shooting incident at an Edinburgh pub.
The incident at the Jock's Lodge pub happened around 8.30pm on Sunday.
A 24-year-old male was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment on wounds to his legs before later being released.
The accused is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Police said the victim suffered an injury to his face and also received a number of stab wounds on the leg.
A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman added: "This was a serious incident, and the victim is lucky not to have been more badly injured. The pub was busy at the time and its patrons were obviously alarmed."
The scene was sealed off yesterday as police forensic teams investigated. House to house enquires were also carried out and CCTV footage which covers the area was recovered by officers.
It is believed detectives were looking for two men in connection with the incident.

Businessman Fined Over Damage To Ancient Woods
Natural England has won its case against a businessman in Cumbria who was found to have caused damage to an ancient woodland on his land. Philip Day was order to pay a fine of £450,000 and court fees of £475,000 in connection with the felling of trees and the excavation of land in order to build an access track in Gelt Woods.

Ryanair Postpones Opening Of Edinburgh Base
Low-fares airline Ryanair has been forced to postpone the opening of its new Edinburgh base for six weeks, due to strike action at airplane manufacturer Boeing. Ryanair said that the strike had resulted in Boeing being unable to deliver two 737 planes which the airline had purchased to operate on its new Edinburgh routes.

MoJ Reveal Drone Used In Prison Smuggle Attempt
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has revealed that a drone was used to try and smuggle a package into the grounds of HMP Bedford. An MoJ spokesperson said that the aircraft was "quickly intercepted by vigilant staff" on 06 March.

Emergency services responding to an ongoing chemical incident have uncovered the bodies of a man and woman at the Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge, Edinburgh. Some 20 fire-fighters remain at the scene of the incident, which began at around 12:15 this afternoon.

Toddler Killed At Highland Show
A toddler has been killed in an accident at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Show. The three-year-old boy was admitted to The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh with serious head injuries at 1.30pm. It is believed that the boy was playing near concrete bollards at the time of the incident.
