X Factor Reject Told To Leave UK

The name at the centre of this year's X Factor controversy, Gamu Nhengu, is facing deportation.

In a shock decision by Judge Cheryl Cole, the former X Factor hopeful was not selected in the final twelve line-up despite being a huge hit with fans.

The Nhengu family have been informed their application to remain in the UK has been rejected.

They have been told to leave the country voluntarily or face being deported back to their native Zimbabwe.

Gamu arrived in Scotland almost five years ago, where her mother, Nokuthula Ngazana, completed her university studies, however their visa has now run out.

A UK Border Agency spokesman said: "Ms Ngazana’s application did not meet all of the conditions for approval.

"Her family, who had applied as her dependants, were therefore also refused.

"Where people are found to have no right to remain in the UK we expect them to leave voluntarily."

A Home Office spokesman said the decision to axe the talented contestant was the business of the show.

However, he could not confirm if Cole had been in talks with immigration officials and programme bosses.

More than 200,000 people have signed up to a Facebook page called Gamu Should Have Got Through, protesting the decision.
