Double Murder Investigation Underway In Islington
A murder inquiry is currently underway following a shooting in Islington.
Police were called at approximately 4.30am yesterday, following reports of a shooting outside Strang House, Britannia Row, in North London.
Officers, ambulance service (LAS) and air ambulance (HEMS) attended and discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Victim one was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been formally identified as 25-year-old Lee Wallace.
Victim two was taken to an east London hospital and subsequently died early this morning. He has been identified as 28 year-old Jayson Hassan.
Post-mortems will take place at St Pancras mortuary.
Next of kin have been informed.
It is believed at this early stage the victims, who were standing outside the building, were shot by two male suspects who approached on foot and made off in an unknown direction. There are no further suspect details at this time.
An incident room has opened in Barking under Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Clayman from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
DCI Clayman said: "We appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or has any information about this incident, to contact us in confidence."

Two arrested over double shooting
Police investigating a double shooting in north London on Wednesday night have arrested two men. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, while a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The two shooting incidents took place within half an hour of each other on Wednesday night.

The gunman who shot dead 32 people at a US college has been described as a loner, whose college work was "disturbing". Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old from South Korea, who had been resident in the US since 1992, was an English student at Virginia Tech who lived on campus.

Man Charged Over Edinburgh Shooting
A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged shooting incident at an Edinburgh pub. The incident at the Jock's Lodge pub happened around 8.30pm on Sunday. A 24-year-old male was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment on wounds to his legs before later being released.

Shooting Incident At House In Berkshire
A man has been shot in Berkshire as he opened his front door. It is understood that around 6pm on Sunday, two men knocked on the door of the property in Swancote Green, Easthampstead. The victim, who is said to be in his 30s, opened the door and was shot by one of the men. The suspects then fled the scene in the direction of Lyn Crescent.
