Abbey Is Royal Choice For April Wedding
Clarence House has announced that Prince William and Kate Middleton plan to marry on Friday 29 April at Westminster Abbey.
The couple, who met at St Andrews University, Fife, announced their engagement to the public last week, however Prince William popped the question the while on holiday in Kenya in October.
He proposed to Kate with his mother Diana's diamond and sapphire engagement ring.
The Queen and Queen Mother's weddings took place at Westminster Abbey. It was also the venue for Princess Diana's funeral in 1997.
The UK taxpayer will foot the bill for security on the day while the Windsor and the Middleton families will pay for the wedding.
