Finchley Murder Appeal Launched

Detectives are reiterating their appeals for witnesses and information after a murder of a man in Finchley.

Police were called to Tillingbourne Gardens, North London, at approximately 6.00am on Saturday 27 November to reports of a man being shot.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination at Finchley mortuary gave cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was formally identified as Bogdan Gabriel Paduret, 29, of Tillingbourne Gardens, North London, a Romanian national who was single.

An inquest will be opened at Barnet Coroner's court in due course.

Officers have established that Mr Paduret, the Head Doorman at the Mayfair Club in Dover Street W1 and known to his friends as Tony, finished work at 5.30am on Saturday 27 November. A friend driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa then gave him a lift home.

Minutes before Mr Paduret pulled up outside his home, a dark coloured motorcycle pulled up further down Tillingbourne Gardens with a driver and pillion passenger on it.

When the car carrying Mr Paduret arrived we believe the pillion passenger got off the bike, walked up to the Corsa pulled out a hand gun and shot through the passenger window four times killing Mr Paduret. He then returned to the bike and which then left the scene.

An incident room was opened by the Metropolitan Police Service's Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC) at Hendon. The investigation is being lead by Detective Chief Inspector Jacqueline Sebire.

DCI Sebire said: "We are very keen to speak to anyone who saw the motorbike, particularly in the area of Tillingbourne Gardens or perhaps in the area of Dover Street. We know that both the driver and the pillion passenger were dressed in dark clothing and the pillion rider may have been wearing a jacket with a reflective stripe up the zip.

"This was a cold blooded and planned murder. Mr Paduret was without doubt targeted and we now need to establish why so that those responsible can be put before the courts and held to account."
