Seven Charged Following Student Protests
Detectives from Operation Malone have charged seven people in connection with the incidents of disorder seen across central London in November and December of last year.
Following a decision by the Crown Prosecution Service, the males were charged with a range of offences, including violent disorder and criminal damage. A further five were dealt with by way of caution or reprimand.
Christopher Hilliard, 22, and a 17-year-old male, both from Cheshire, were charged with violent disorder.
Charlie Gilmour, 21 from Sussex was charged with violent disorder and theft of a mannequin leg.
James Cross, 26, from Lewisham, and Kevin Wilson-Web, 50, from West London were both charged with theft of police equipment.
Justin Sey, 28, from North London was charged with criminal damage to a government building.
James Jeffal, 19, from north west London was charged with Sec 4 Public Order Act - causing fear of unlawful violence, and a 23-year-old man from south east London was cautioned for the same offence.
A 20-year-old man from east London was cautioned for assault on a police officer, while a 19-year-old man from south east London was cautioned for theft.
An 18-year-old man from Stanmore was cautioned for criminal damage, while a 17-year-old south west London man was referred to a Youth Offending Team for a reprimand for criminal damage.
Those charged are due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court on 10 February.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Mobile provide EE is to refund around £1m to a number of customers wrongly charged VAT between October 2012 and October 2014. It is understood that EE customers who travelled outside the EU during those dates and used internet data were affected by the charges. The company estimated it as being about 0.5% of its customers.

74-Year-Old Man Charged In London Slavery Case
A 74-year-old man has been charged with false imprisonment, rape and child cruelty in London. Police said that Aravindan Balakrishnan, who was arrested in November 2013, has now been charged with four counts of rape, 19 counts of indecent assault and one of cruelty to a person under 16. It is understood that the offences relate to three women.

Man Charged Over East London Murder
A 48-year-old man has been charged with the murder of woman in east London. Police say that the man has been charged with stabbing to death 26-year-old Leighann Duffy. Ms Duffy was found at a house in Hatherley Road in Walthamstow suffering stab wounds to her arm and neck. She died two days later in hospital.
