Joss Stone Murder Plot Foiled
Police have arrested two men from Manchester on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and rob singer Joss Stone. The men, in their thirties, were arrested following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Cullompton area. The men were found with swords, plans of the singer's Devon home and a body bag. The news comes after the publication of 24-year-old singer's name on the Sunday Times Rich List. She is said to be worth £9m.
Arrests Made In Doorman Murder Case
Arrests have been made this morning, in connection with the murder of Bogdan Gabriel Paduret. Officers executed search warrants at eight addresses in North, East and West London. At this time six people have been arrested over the murder of Mr Paduret in Tillingbourne Gardens, north London on 27 November 2010. Mr Paduret died of a gunshot wound to the head. Officers have established that Mr Paduret, the Head Doorman at the Mayfair Club in Dover Street in west London, arrived home at approx 6.00am, when someone approached the car he was travelling in and shot him four times. Detective Chief Inspector Jacqueline Sebire, Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: "This was a cold blooded and planned murder. Mr Paduret was without doubt targeted. We have been working tirelessly to piece together events leading up to the death of Mr Paduret, we are now at the arrest phase and intend to question a number of people in connection with the murder. We are committed to putting those responsible before the courts to be held to account."
Flying Squad Officers Thwart Surrey Bank Raid
Detectives from the Met’s flying squad foiled a robbery on a bank last night during a proactive operation in Oxted, Surrey. Officers from the flying squad, assisted by colleagues from the Met’s specialist firearms’ unit CO19, arrested four men outside the Santander Bank, Station Road East, Oxted, at around 8.30pm. The suspects, armed with hammers, smashed their way into the premises and assaulted two security guards who were at the venue but fortunately neither of them were injured. The suspects attempted to flee the scene with a quantity of cash when officers carried out an armed intervention. Officers discharged hatton rounds on the suspect’s vehicle, a VW Polo, and taser was used on two of the suspects during their detention. No shots were fired. Hammers and a quantity of cash were recovered at the scene. The men, all in their early 20s and from south London, are currently in custody at south London police stations. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Johnson, from Tower Bridge Flying Squad, said: “This is an excellent result for the flying squad and is testament to the skill and commitment of our officers in dealing with violent crime. I would like to thank colleagues from CO19 and Surrey police for their support during and after this operation.”

Seven held after police foil £40m Heathrow heist
Seven men have been arrested after police foiled an attempted £40 million bullion heist at Heathrow airport this morning. Six men were detained this morning after Scotland Yard's Flying Squad swooped on the Swissport Cargo warehouse, in an operation involving over 100 officers. A seventh man was later apprehended by police.

Four Arrested Over Denton Fight Death
Four people, including a 15-year-old male, have been charged with the murder of a man in Denton, Greater Manchester. Police responded to reports of a fight between a group of men on Manchester Road at about 3am on Sunday 07 June. When they arrived officers found a number of men fighting. Two men had suffered serious injuries.

Former police officers arrested in Lynette White murder case
Five retired police officers have been arrested as part of an investigation into the murder of a Cardiff prostitute 17 years ago, South Wales police have confirmed. Twenty-year-old Lynette White was found murdered in a flat in the Butetown area of Cardiff on Valentine’s Day, 1988.

When officers attended the scene, they found a large group of people gathered and a 26-year-old man with stab wounds.

Police Release Car Image In Bath Murder Investigation
Detectives in Bath has released an image of a car which may be connected to the murder of a 22-year-old man. Ben Foster was found in Ringswell Gardens, Bath on Sunday evening with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he died of a stab wound to the body.
