Man Arrested In Connection With Murder In Manchester
An arrest has been made in relation to the murder of a man in Manchester city centre.
At about 3.25am on Sunday 4 January, police were called to Charles Street by the ambulance service after reports a man had been stabbed.
When officers attended the scene, they found a large group of people gathered and a 26-year-old man with stab wounds.
He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Superintendent Joanne Rawlinson, said: "A young man has sadly died and our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his relatives and friends.
"I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through and specially trained officers are offering them whatever support we can.
"We are in the very early stages of the investigation and we have a team of experienced detectives working to establish the circumstances leading up to his death.
"I would urge any witnesses to this tragic incident to come forward and speak to us. Although one man has been arrested in connection with the murder, we still need to hear from anyone who was around the Charles Street area in the early hours of this morning or has any information which may assist us with our investigation."

Double Murder Suspect Arrested
Following the arrest on Sunday morning of double murder suspect James Allen police have appealed for people to check on any friends and relatives who could have come into contact him. Detectives made the appeal after 36-year-old Allen was arrested early on Sunday after being spotted by an off-duty officer on his way to work in Leeds.

£150k Fife Heroin Haul
Heroin valued at over £150,000 has been seized in Fife as part of an intelligence led operation by police. Raids undertaken by Fife Constabulary's Force Drugs Squad during the Easter weekend resulted in significant quantities of the Class A drug being recovered. Two people have also been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Murder Inquiry As Leeds Blaze Infant Dies
The police have launched a full-scale murder inquiry after a 15-month-old girl was killed in a house fire. The victim, her 19-year-old mother and a 27-year-old man were rescued from a blazing house in Seacroft, Leeds, in the early hours of Thursday morning and all three were taken to St James's Hospital. The little girl died a short time later.

Police Release Car Image In Bath Murder Investigation
Detectives in Bath has released an image of a car which may be connected to the murder of a 22-year-old man. Ben Foster was found in Ringswell Gardens, Bath on Sunday evening with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he died of a stab wound to the body.
