Cameron Promises Phone Hack Investigation
Following revelations that the phone of murder victim Milly Dowler was hacked, the Prime Minister has promised a full investigation.
A public enquiry will be set up investigating the alleged hacking by the News of the World.
It is reported a private investigator was hired to hack into Milly's voicemail while she was missing to give the newspaper access.
David Cameron described the claims as "disgusting". However he said the investigation would not get underway until police investigations were concluded.
Labour leader Ed Miliband said the inquiry should be set up sooner.
A spokeswoman for the PM revealed that two lines of inquiries into phone hacking could be launched - one into the police handling of the investigation, and one into the actions of the media.
As an alternative, there could be one full inquiry.
Yesterday Rebekah Brooks, the boss of News International, has said the "strongest possible action" will be employed if claims that the phone of murder victim Milly Dowler was hacked.
