Appeal Over Missing Teenager

Police in Greenwich are appealing for information about a 17-year-old girl who has gone missing. Amna Ali has not been seen since 3pm on August 10, when she left her home in Thamesmead. She is described as 5ft 4ins, of slim build, with dark brown, curly hair and brown eyes. The last time she was seen, Amna was wearing a floral multicoloured top, a light pink purse bag worn across her body, large blu dangly earrings, brown and blue beaded bracelets and a distinctive necklace with a large 'A' pendant. Police said that Amna has not gone missing before. They also confirmed that she could be using the following names: Amna Ali Khan, Aliyah Ali Khan, Amna Allya and possibly the surname Dacosta. Police also believe that she may have travelled to the Spark Hill area of Birmingham. An acquaintance is believed to have seen her in Catford around 10:30pm, while another teenager is understood to have contacted her on her mobile phone on August 13. Detective Constable Sam Nottie said: "Amna's family are concerned about her welfare and want her to return home as soon as possible. We are aware that Amna had contacted a number of people on dating websites and it is possible that she might be meeting some of these individuals. Anyone with information should contact police in Greenwich as soon as possible."

Teen Killed In Ellesmere Port Collision

Cheshire Police have appealed for witnesses following a road traffic collision in which a 15-year--old boy was killed. The incident happened on August 16 around 2:40pm on Princes Road, Ellesmere Port, close to the Bargain Booze store. The boy was riding his bike along the road when he collided with a lorry, which was also travelling along the road. The boy suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but died later that day. The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man from Birkenhead, was not injured. Fatal Caravan Fire Couple Named

Sussex Police have named the couple who died in a caravan fire at the Combe Haven Holiday Park at St Leonards-on-Sea on August 14. They were John Thompson, 50, and his wife Pauline, 49, who lived at Combe Haven in Harley Shute Road. The deaths are not being treated as suspicious and the cause of the fire is not yet known. The case has now been passed to the coroner's office and inquests into both deaths will be opened this week.

Two 14-Year-Old Boys Charged With Manslaughter
Two 14-year-old boys have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 41-year-old father-of-two in Leicester. Ponnuthurai Nimalaraja, known as Nimal, was assaulted at the junction of Gypsy Lane and Northfield Road shortly after 23:00 on 9 June. Mr Nimalaraja died in hospital on 16 June, one week after being attacked.

PC Jailed Over Schoolgirl's Crash Death
A police officer who caused the death of a teenage girl by dangerous driving, has been jailed for three years. Hayley Adamson, 16, was killed when she stepped out into the path of PC John Dougal's car in Newcastle's Denton Road on 19 May last year. Dougal was chasing a suspect car at the time, but did not have his siren or blue lights switched on.

Further Appeal Made For Farooq's Murder
Detectives have recovered a five and a half inch-bladed kitchen knife and a house brick which were used in the attack on Dr Imran Farooq in Edgware two weeks ago. The knife and brick were found in Green Lane where 50-year-old Dr Farooq was assaulted shortly before 5:30pm on Thursday, 16 September.

Release Of Police Killer Described As 'Sickening'
The release of a man convicted of killing three unarmed police officers in 1966 has been described as "sickening". Harry Roberts, now aged 78, has been released from prison after serving 48 years for 1966 murders of three unarmed police officers in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.
