Horror As Decomposed Child's Body Found
A man and a woman are currently being questioned by police after the decomposed body of a young child was found in a house.
The horrific discovery was made when they were called to the terrace property in Heaton, Bradford, at about 2.40pm on Wednesday.
Police said the dead child was a boy, aged three-and-a-half. It is understood he had been dead for some time.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death."
They said that a 40-year-old woman - believed to be the mother - and a 22-year-old man have been arrested and are in custody. The man is also said to be a relative of the boy.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers went to the house after "concerns were raised about the occupants".
He added: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death of the child."
At the same time, a Manchester mum is at the centre of a probe into the suspicious death of a four-year-old girl whose body was found at a two-storey council house on Garthorne Close in Moss Side, Manchester.
The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of her murder after Manchester Royal Infirmary staff contacted the police at 7.15pm on Thursday after the woman came to "express concerns" about her.
The 31-year-old woman is being held in custody for questioning.
