Witness Appeal After Woman, 98, Sexually Assaulted
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a 98-year-old women was sexually assaulted on New Years Day.
Police said they are appealing for witnesses and information after the sexual assault, which occurred in East Street, Bedminster at around 10.30am.
The 98-year-old woman was walking on Philips Street when she became aware of a person behind her. She was then subjected to a sexual assault.
The offender is described as a white man aged about 60 years-old with short grey hair and a round face which was clean shaven. He was wearing a fawn colour rain mac. He was last seen turning into Philips Street.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The jury at Kingston Crown Court found Benjamin Kwahu Boateng, 27, of Crawford Street, London, guilty of one count of sexual assault by penetration at an earlier hearing.
